About

DR. MUSSON is a public policy specialist focused on industrialized construction (offsite/modular) as a driver of multifamily housing production and economic inclusion. He’s a certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®, a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and professionally licensed as both Real Estate Broker, and General Contractor.

He holds degrees in both real estate development and urban planning. His training as an urban planner provides him with an understanding of the tools available for government to influence private development — his hands-on experience in policymaking roles in Altadena, CA, as a member of its Council, its Land Use Committee, and on the West Altadena Project Area Committee provide practical application of theoretical study. His training as a real estate developer gives him an understanding of the perspectives of private capital; the motives, impediments, and constraints. Dr. Musson also earned a graduate degree in supply chain management from USC’s Marshall School of Business, which comprised the study of materials sourcing, processing, manufacturing, and logistics. Musson’s doctoral research investigates obstacles to modular, off-site construction (industrialization) in multifamily housing development as a response to the deepening housing crisis.

He has been a consultant to the international real estate development industry for two decades, providing global supply-chain management, asset management, project management, and program management to projects on three continents.

As a professor, keynote speaker, or featured guest, he has shared his expertise in real estate finance, project management, international best practices, global logistics, and continuous improvement strategies with audiences across the globe.

Dr. Musson’s research, which has produced two pending patents, earned the prestigious Dean’s Medal for Outstanding Doctoral Work, the highest academic honor awarded by the college.

Here at Northeastern University, Dr. Musson teaches Project Management to graduate students.
