Michael Leidig, MS, RD, LDN, CPT, is a Registered Dietitian and ACE Certified Health Coach and Personal Trainer specializing in weight management. Mr. Leidig is a nationally recognized speaker on weight management and the glycemic index and has co-authored book chapters and journal articles related to obesity management. He has worked in the child/adolescent/adult weight management fields since1999 gaining expertise in the design, supervision, and evaluation of clinical programs and research studies with institutions including the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Boston Medical Center and Children’s Hospital Boston. Mr. Leidig retired from a 20-year career in health after spending eight years as the Clinical Director for the Center for Youth Wellness at the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center and an Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at the Tufts University School of Medicine overseeing weight management programming for youth and families within the Department of General Pediatrics as well as nutrition outreach and education to the surrounding community.

Mr. Leidig is currently a nutrition consultant and founder of Nutrition & Fitness Advisors—a nutrition and fitness consulting practice working with clients individually via the telephone and Internet to embrace more healthful lifestyles. In addition, he works and volunteers for various organizations addressing food insecurity including the Brookline Food Pantry, Fair Foods and the Trustees of the Reservations. Mr. Leidig also volunteers for two nonprofit organizations to encourage greater access and enjoyment of nature including the Arnold Arboretum assisting with climate change research and the Emerald Necklace Conservancy providing walking/biking tours of the six connected parks that surround Boston created by Frederick Law Olmsted. Lastly, as a classically-trained pianist, Mr. Leidig performs at Senior Living Centers in Boston, North Carolina, New York and Florida incorporating music appreciation education along with historical information about the composers lives including an in-depth look into the nutrition habits of the time period from the Baroque era through Romantic periods.
