About

Ravi Jain is a prolific multimedia storyteller, with over 25 years experience in implementing new technologies to engage audiences. A short form video evangelist, he has received numerous awards and recognition for his work, including a 2007 Webby Award nomination for his “talk-show in a car,” DriveTime. He is a frequent speaker at conferences in the areas of content strategy and digital media.

Ravi designed his own undergraduate major at Oberlin College combining Computer Science, Film/Video and Studio Art. This prescient degree anticipated the explosive opportunities for digital and new media in the 1990s. In 2001, Ravi received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the Massachusetts College of Art & Design in the Studio for Interrelated Media. He is currently an MBA candidate at Boston College's Carroll School of Management.

Jain currently manages strategic digital media solutions for Boston College’s Office of University Communications.

Senior Associate Director, Digital Media and Web Development, Office of University Communications

Boston College, Boston, MA, 2012-present

Manage the production of digital media content for a variety of sites on bc.edu. Act as the primary creative contributor to @BC, the multimedia arm of Boston College Magazine. Manage a staff of four full time developers and producers.

 

Lead Digital Media and Web Producer, Office of Marketing Communications

Produce original video content and interactive features for a variety of sites on bc.edu. Act as the primary creative contributor to @BC, the multimedia arm of Boston College Magazine. Originator and chief producer/editor of the ongoing web video series, A Boston College Minute.

 

Project Coordinator/New Media, Podcast Producer, American Experience

WGBH, Boston, MA, 2002–2008

Developed and wrote interactive web features (Flash, video, audio) for nationally broadcast PBS history series.  Produced, directed and shot remote video segments for web and DVD.  Wrote and produced audio podcasts. Coordinated delivery of dynamic media assets (film, video, audio) for web production team.

Reference Interactive Studio, Stockholm, Sweden, 1996–1999

Recruited by Swedish design firm to relocate to Sweden to design large-scale interactive educational projects.  Art director for The A-Files, award-winning Educational language learning tool for children. Learned Swedish language to work effectively with team members and clients.

Managed East Coast design operations of public relations firm. Taught "brown bag" design sessions for internal staff.

Designed and produced presentations and reports for international accounting and consulting firm. Promoted to manage Marketing’s design department after two years.  In that capacity, determined annual software/hardware budget and supervised junior design staff.
