Sandra “Sandy” Magill received her undergraduate degree from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in English with a Minor in History and Secondary Education.   She continued her education at American International College receiving a Masters in Educational Administration.

Professor Magill began her career in education at Mohawk Trail Regional High School where she was instrumental in establishing a Middle School with in a Regional School grades 7-12.  She continued at Mohawk teaching in grades 7-12 eventually becoming the English Department Head.   Her additional duties included coaching field hockey, basketball and softball; class advisor, and Activities Director.  She retired from Mohawk but continued her relationship as Interim Assistant Principal, Proctoring AP and MCAS tests.

Professor Magill is a retired Navy Captain having served from 1982 to 2011 in the Intelligence field.  She was deployed immediately following September 11, 2001 to the Office of Naval Intelligence to establish a training course for soon to be mobilized personnel to ONI-352.  Initially mobilized to ONI, she later served 13 months as Eastern Area Coordinator for Collections in Boston, MA, in charge of an area from Maine to Virginia.  In 2005, she was recalled to active duty at the United States Central Command in Tampa, FL, and at its forward headquarters in Doha, Qatar as Duty Director of Intelligence and Duty Director of Operations.  Upon return from the Middle East, she returned to USCENTCOM as the J2 Rep to the Joint Intelligence Operations Commander (JIOC).

In her spare time. Sandy is a member of the YMCA Greenfield and spends free time between Massachusetts and her home in Maine.
